Narrated 'Abdullah Radi ALLAH talah anhu : I asked the Prophet Sallallahu 'alayhi wa sallam "Which deed is the dearest to Allah?"
He replied, "To offer the prayers at their early stated fixed times.
" I asked, "What is the next (in goodness)?"
He replied, "To be good and dutiful to your parents"
...
I again asked, "What is the next (in goodness)?" He replied, 'To participate in Jihad (religious fighting) in Allah's cause."
'Abdullah R.A added, "I asked only that much and if I had asked more, the Prophet Sallallahu 'alayhi wa sallam would have told me more."

ابوالولید، ہشام بن عبدالملک، شعبہ، ولید بن عیزار، ابوعمر شیبانی نے عبداللہ بن مسعود رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ کے گھر کی طرف اشارہ کرتے ہوئے کہا کہ ہم سے اس گھر کے مالک نے بیان کیا کہ میں نے نبی صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم سے پوچھا کہ اللہ کے نزدیک کون سا عمل زیادہ محبوب ہے؟ آپ نے فرمایا اپنے وقت میں نماز پڑھنا، ابن مسعود رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ نے کہا کہ اس کے بعد کون (سا عمل محبوب ہے) آپ نے فرمایا اس کے بعد والدین کی اطاعت کرنا، ابن مسعود نے کہا کہ اس کے بعد کون (سا عمل محبوب ہے) آپ نے فرمایا کہ اللہ کی راہ میں جہاد کرنا، ابن مسعود کہتے ہیں کہ آپ نے مجھ سے اسی قدر بیان فرمایا، اور اگر میں آپ سے زیادہ پوچھتا تو (امید تھی کہ) آپ زیادہ بیان فرما دیتے۔
Narrated Jabir bin 'Abdullah Radi ALLAH talah ANhu:
Muhammad Sallallaahu Alaihi Wasallam said, "I have been given five things which were not given to anyone else before me.
1. Allah made me victorious by awe, (by His frightening my enemies) for a distance of one month's journey.
2. The earth has been made for me (and for my followers) a place for praying and a thing to perform Tayammum, therefore anyone of my followers can pray wherever the time of a prayer is due.
3. The booty has been made Halal (lawful) for me yet it was not lawful for anyone else before me.
4. I have been given the right of intercession (on the Day of Resurrection).
5. Every Prophet used to be sent to his nation only but I have been sent to all mankind

محمد بن سنان عوفی، ہشیم، ح، سعید بن نضر، سیار، یزید فقیر، جابر بن عبداللہ رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ روایت کرتے ہیں کہ نبی صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم نے فرمایا مجھے پانچ چیزیں ایسی دی گئی ہیں، جو مجھ سے پہلے کسے کو نہ دی گئی تھیں، (1) مجھے ایک مہینہ کی راہ سے رعب کے ذریعہ مدد دی گئی، (2) زمین میرے لیے مسجد اور پاک بنا دی گئی، لہذا میری امت میں جس شخص پر نماز کا وقت (جہاں) آجائے، اسے چاہئے کہ (وہیں زمین پر) نماز پڑھ لے، (3) میرے لئے مال غنیمت حلال کر دئیے گئے، حالانکہ مجھ سے پہلے کسی (نبی) کے لئے حلال نہ کئے گئے تھے، (4) مجھے شفاعت کی اجازت دی گئی، (5) ہر نبی خاص اپنی قوم کی طرف مبعوث ہوتا تھا، اور میں تمام آدمیوں کی طرف بھیجا گیا ہوں۔
Many of us are used to missing SALAH giving lame excuses.
Are the excuses really Valid?
Allah (SWT) has said in the Noble Qur'an:
I have not created the jinn and humankind for any other purpose except that they should worship Me." ( Al Quran 51:56)
میں نے جنات اور انسانوں کو محض اس لئے پیدا کیا ہے کہ وہ صرف میری عبادت کریں۔ (۱)
I did not create the Jinns and the human beings except for the purpose that they should worship Me.
It is clear from the above verse of Noble Qur'an that the purpose of our birth and of our life is no other than that of the worship of Allah (SWT).
There are many acts of worship (Ibadah, Ibadat) in Islam, and Salah is one of the most important obligatory acts.
Salah (Salat, Namaz) strengthens the foundations of our faith. It prepares a person to live the life of goodness and obedience to Allah (SWT), and it builds courage and determination.
Every time we perform Salah, we renew our commitments to Allah (SWT) and we rid ourselves from worldly pressures five times a day.
Salah (Salat, Namaz) is a practical sign of obedience to the commands of Allah (SWT).
:What has brought you to Saqar? (Hell)
They will say, :We were not among those who offered Salah , (obligatory prayer)
and we did not give food to the needy,
and we indulged (in mocking at the truth) along with those who indulged,
and we used to deny the Day of Requital,
until when we were overtaken by that which is certain.
Al Quran
74:42 & 43
تمہیں دوزخ میں کس چیز نے ڈالا۔
وہ جواب دیں گے ہم نمازی نہ تھے۔
نہ مسکینوں کو کھانا کھلاتے تھے۔ (۱)
اور ہم بحث کرنے والے (انکاریوں) کا ساتھ دے کر بحث مباحثہ میں مشغول رہا کرتے تھے (١)
اور روز جزا کو جھٹلاتے تھے۔
یہاں تک کہ ہمیں موت آگئی۔
